Our Story
I needed lightweight and packable towels and blankets for my three toddlers during outdoor outings. However, my daughters struggle with eczema and a laundry-list of allergies, so traditional microfiber towels and fleece blankets would exacerbate their skin flareups. I searched for natural, breathable fibers that were soft, absorbent, and travel-friendly, but made without harmful chemicals to protect their sensitive skin and our environment. I hope you'll love our blankets and towels as much as our family does, and that they'll make spontaneous adventures easier and sofa snuggles cozier! ~Cheers, Christine

FAQs
Why is Turkish Cotton Special?
Turkish Cotton is known for its longer fibers, compared to standard cotton. The longer the fiber, the fewer edges it will have when it’s woven into a fabric. As a result, these special fibers produce stronger, plusher, and softer fabrics that are fast-drying too! For those with sensitive skin, this is important, because less fiber joints means less irritation.
Where are these made?
Unlike other Turkish-style textiles, our blankets and towels are authentically loomed in Turkey with real, premium Turkish cotton!
Why are these good for sensitive-skin?
For those suffering with Eczema or Psoriasis, you need breathable, soft, non-irritating fabric against your sensitive skin. Specifically, Organic, OEKO-TEX®, 100% cotton is the ideal fabric!
National Eczema Association article states “...Fabrics [with] an OEKO-TEX label...certifies that they are free of harmful and potential allergenic chemicals. These are harder to find, but are optimal...It is best to choose organic cotton, whenever possible...100% organic cotton clothing is less likely to contain some potential allergens in clothing."
WebMD also states in their article, "Avoid Synthetic Clothes...that trap heat, make you sweat, or... that scratch your skin and cause irritation. Pick breathable fabrics. Choose clothes made from cotton...that allows your skin to breathe [and] can also absorb sweat.
Psoriasis resource states, "People with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis find it best to stay away from wool and synthetic clothes made from nylon and polyester to avoid overheating. Instead, opt for breathable fabric made from 100 percent cotton..."
How is organic cotton different?
We use cotton that has been certified Organic through the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers. This certifies that our cotton "is made of natural fibers grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, or herbicides and GMOs...to sustain the health of ecosystems, soils and people."
What is OEKO-TEX® Certified?
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. Our products have been rigorously tested for numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. In many cases, the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements. In short, our products are SAFE and free from toxic chemicals!
Is it Machine-Washable?
YES! Ideally, you would wash separately with cold or warm water on the delicate/gentle cycle and hang to dry.
BUT, we know that life is busy, so you can wash with other towels and similarly soft cotton items on the gentle cycle. Avoid items with zippers and other accessories that might pull on the fabric threads. You may also use the dryer on the low heat, delicate setting.
